Carolina Goat Yoga
I’m Tracie Adams I was born in Arkansas and raised on a small farm off dirt road called Tater Lane in Austin, Arkansas.
Horses were always a huge passion from the time I was 5 yrs old that’s all I talked about. I got my first horse at 7 his name was Cody. Then as I grew as a cowgirl I was blessed to be able to compete at the highest levels in the World of AQHA. I also competed with my cows, pigs, goats, chickens, turkeys and more at the local fairs every year. I loved all things farming!
Once I reached 18 though I moved away from home, went to college, and kind of got swept up in city life. I moved to North Carolina in 2005 and have called this home since.
Fast forward to 2014 I had been living in the city working as a bartender and sales job. I had finally saved enough to buy a horse and lease a farm. That’s when I opened my business Time to Shine Stables and then in 2017 we added the Carolina Goat Yoga business. It took off!
Until the Pandemic hit and unfortunately we had to shut down in 2021 for 2 years. This was one of the toughest times of my life. I had to rehome the majority of my animals this was incredibly hard for me, however I did keep my “furever” animals. I actually lived in my car for over a year to keep my babies! It was extremely hard, but I just knew I would & could rebuild.
So last year we were able to reopen with limited services and things have been going really well. My favorite thing about my career is the joy I see others experience from being around the animals or enjoying goat yoga class!
I’ve never seen anyone leave sad or without a smile. That to me is what life is about: bringing light to a somewhat these days dark world. I love giving people that hour or two of complete relaxation where none of their worries come to mind.
