This cover drawing “Aurora in Flight” honors the creative magic of this wonderfully renovated and repurposed building, and the inspiration
I have found inside.
I love the seeing the use of local artists’ work on the walls when walking down the stairs beginning in from the front lobby with the painted night sky in the stairwell by Emily Williamson’s at the entrance to the downstairs hall. If I take the elevator on the Luck Avenue side, I’m greeted by a column painted by Toobz Muir who also has work in the middle stairwell.
I can see Alex Foster creating art in her studio across the hall, and Philip at Bank’s Technology where he provides IT support for small businesses. The sounds of children making art in The Children’s Galley fills the hall.
I am a professional artist and work in many mediums, from oil paintings to graphic design to murals. I graduated from Radford University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting, Cum laude. I received a Master’s of Fine Arts from Winthrop University in Sculpture and was recipient of Winthrop Woman of Excellence Award.
